17th century gold mourning ring with the inscription ‘Patiently submitt to dye’ followed by the initials AL and a makers stamp. The outside of the hoop has an engraved skull motif with further engraving around the hoop giving a plaited effect. 3.68g, diameter: 21.14mm, internal diameter: 18.42mm, ring size: UK Q1/2, US 8.5.
