Early Christian Ring Pin. Circa 9th century AD. Copper-alloy, 23 x 22 mm, pin length 56 mm. A two piece ring pin / brooch. The ring is decorated with three Amber settings (one survives) and panels of interlace. The head or ring, hinges freely on a loop at the top of the pin. Ref: Wilde, 1857, 565 & 566. Coffey 1909, 34 & Ryan and Cahill 1981, 53.
