'Copper alloy Roman antoninianus (radiate) of Carausius, dating to the period AD 286-293. Reece Period 14. PROVID AVG reverse type, 'C' (unknown English) mint. RIC V, pt 2, p. 494, no. 352. This coin is included in Sam Moorhead's corpus for RIC.
This is only the third coin of this type known. One is in the British Museum, another in a private collection (Sam Moorhead NFA Roman Coins British Museum pers. comm.).
