Anglo-Saxon silver-gilt zoomorphic mount. Circa 7th century CE. Style II. In the form of a stylised hound or beast crouching, its mouth biting or consuming elements of another animal. The application of the mount is unknown but the  shape suggests it could be one element of a pommel or a helmet crest piece. Ref: G.
