Large Roman Amphora Strap-end. Circa 2nd-4th century AD. Copper-alloy, 23.44 g. 66.78 mm. An impressive Roman military strap-end of the amphora type. On each side of the neck are two circular loops representing the handles, above are two fixing lugs. The face of the piece is decorated with engraved and punched detailing that highlight the shape of the amphora along with two circular panels in the centre of the neck.
