Medieval Vesica Seal Matrix. Circa 13th-14th century CE. A very preserved personal seal. The central motif is a bird walking right (as seen on the impression), perhaps an eagle, with a twig in its beak. The legend reads: "* S' HENRICI FIL' THOME" followed by a branch or twig. Translated, means "The Seal of Henry, son of Thomas". Suspension loop intact on the reverse. Copper-alloy, 36.2mm x 23.3mm, 16.6g. Recorded on the PAS database: SWYOR-AD1D67.
