Large 18th Century Padlock. Circa 1750-1800. Iron, 118 x 87 mm. An impressive shield-shaped hand-wrought iron lock with brass internal mechanism. The front plate has the name, J GAYWOOD. From an Essex collection, found on the foreshore of the river Thames 1982.
