Roman Cockerel figurine. Circa 1st-3rd century AD. Copper-alloy, 33.09g. 36.85 mm. A very well modelled example with fine casting. The object is presumably a cult object dedicated to the god Mercury, the god of traders (and thieves) whose accompanying animals include a cockerel.
